Shelter
- Runaway Campers Venturist 4'x8': Link to Runaway Campers Venturist 4'x8': We tow this camper on every trip and to every expo we attend. It's a small but simple camper with minimal fuss. Its durability and versatility allow it to go anywhere my Tacoma can. We love the flexibility of setting up only as much of camp as we need before settling in for the night. We've been using this camper for five years, and it's been the foundation of our adventures.
Comfort
- Cascade Mountain Tech Outdoor High Back Lightweight Camp Chair: https://amzn.to/3ToBeuT: These camping chairs are lightweight and easy to move around camp. They also pack down super small, maximizing storage space.
- KickAss Instant Ensuite Camping Shower Tent Awning for Cars: https://amzn.to/3XDuLi8: This is quite honestly the easiest & simplest shower room to deploy and there is plenty of space. We mounted this on our camper and use it for our shower and camp toilet occasionally.
- CGEAR RV Camping Mat, Sand Free Outdoor Reversible Rug for Campsite: https://amzn.to/47nCyEo: We initially bought this mat for its bright orange color, but we were pleasantly surprised by its functionality. It's incredibly effective at shedding water, sand, and dirt, making the pack up much easier, even in inclement weather.
Cooking
- Jetboil Genesis Basecamp Backpacking and Camping Stove Cooking System with Camping Cookware: https://amzn.to/47nayAr: We decided to upgrade from our Coleman propane stove to this more efficient model. This stove packs down compactly into its pot and pan, saving us valuable space in our camper.
- GSI Outdoors, Destination Cooking Set 24, Serves 4 People: https://amzn.to/3TmiGvx: We have been through a couple cooking sets, but this one is simple and doesn't break the bank. It also packs nicely into our Last Us Bag Co. Happy camper bag. Which is the bag we use for all of our kitchen gear. We normally hang this back on the exterior of our camper using suction cups.
- Happy Camper Organizer: Link to Happy Camper Organizer
- Bogg bag for food items: https://amzn.to/3Xc2huE: This bag fits snugly between our Dometic fridge and the backseat of our Tacoma. We typically store all of our pantry items inside. We appreciate its sturdy structure and straightforward design.
Coffee Setup
- Jetboil Flash Camping and Backpacking Stove System: https://amzn.to/3XmzMu6: We use this generally for boiling water, we are not big breakfast people but we like a good cup of coffee in the morning. So we put together a coffee bag using the REI Pack Away Cube. We Have all the coffee paraphernalia in this bag, including the JetBoil, VSSL Grinder and bag of our favorite coffee from Black Rifle Coffee Company.

Other Essentials
- EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 2 Pro: https://amzn.to/3Zi7JP5: A portable battery pack is essential for any overlander. We've been relying on this one for years, and it has never let us down. We primarily use it to recharge our fans and other devices.
- ALL-TOP Spare Tire Trash Bag, Heavy Duty Truck Tailgate Trash Bag: https://amzn.to/4e1DQYc: This simple tire trash bag is perfect for carrying trash, firewood, or other items. We typically hang it off the spare tire on our camper.
- Dometic GO Hydration Water Faucet: https://amzn.to/47s7vHu: I initially thought this faucet was a gimmick, but I’ve found it incredibly useful. Having readily available water has been a game-changer for us. We typically fill it with filtered water for brushing our teeth and making coffee.
- DOMETIC GO 11L BPA Free: https://amzn.to/3XC8G3E: This water container is designed to work seamlessly with the Dometic GO Hydration Water Faucet.
- Ignik 20-Pound Propane Tank Case with Bucket Lid Seat: https://amzn.to/4ekDyLH: We always carry an extra 20-pound propane tank specifically for our Lava Box. I needed a simple case to secure the tank in the back of the truck, and this one fit the bill perfectly. We love our Lava Box; it's practically a flamethrower! We used to use a Solo Stove Ranger, but we always struggled with finding or collecting dry firewood. Plus, our clothes and linens would always smell like smoke, especially on longer trips. The Lava Box has been a lifesaver for keeping us warm and dry.
- The Original Lavabox Fire Pit: Link to The Original Lavabox Fire Pit
- Milwaukee 2826-20T M18 FUEL 14" Top Handle Chainsaw: https://amzn.to/3AYgGDe: This chainsaw has been a lifesaver on several occasions. It's incredibly useful for clearing trails obstructed by fallen trees, and I love not having to worry about carrying extra fuel. I've even managed to clear significant amounts of lumber using just a single 6Ah battery.
- CRATE Starter Pack - Two Full Size and One Half Size SidioCrate: https://amzn.to/47llTBa: Staying organized is crucial for a smooth camping experience. These crates are incredibly versatile and can be arranged in various ways. We typically keep them at the base of our Runaway Venturist and use them for storing shoes and shower towels.
These are just a few of our favorite camping essentials. We hope you like this gear as much as we do.
